Popup EgisUpdate Error

This error can occur when the egisupdate.exe file becomes corrupt and stops working. If you search of egisupdate.exe in google or yahoo they will often return answers suggestion this file is a virus or spyware. Now although this file could become infected with a virus like any executable files itself is not dangerous and is a autoupdate piece of software belonging to a company called Egistec's. It checks for new versions of their software. So if you have this error message the chances are you have installed something from this companies software library such as Egistec Protection Suite, Egistec Shredder, MyWinLocker, Port locker, Secure share or Trust Delete.

The auto update can normally be found in this directory C:\Program Files\EgisTec IPS and is run every time at boot up. If there is a problem with it and you are getting an error message popup with the egisupdate error, then you need to do 1 of two things. You can either uninstall the piece of software you downloaded from Egistec and then reinstall to try and fix the error message, or you can remove the auto update from your computer and it will no longer check for updates. To do this i would download and install a program called ccleaner. This has a section called "startup programs" and lists what programs run the computer starts up. There will be an option in there called egisupdate and you can delete the entry. This will stop it from loading when the computer loads and therefore the error message will no longer appear. If you take this route you will have to download updates to the any egistec software manually.
